About This 1902 Historic House For Sale In New London Connecticut
Introducing the 1902 well preserved Historical Landmark house situated on a corner lot, conveniently located between Ocean Av. and Montauk Av. This unique Queen Ann Spanish Victorian Revival was Designed and Owned by the reputable Architect DUDLEY ST. CLAIR DONNELLY, who bought the land in 1897. Dudley designed and finished building it in 1902 which was kept as their primary residence from 1902-1909.
The famous inventor. Dr. Edward H. Angle bought the property from them in 1909 and moved out in 1916 to LA, CA to build a similar home with the same street name and #, also by the same Architect. Drawings and National Historical Buildings indicate that this magnificent residence earned the distinguished name (The Father of American Orthodontics)” Dr. Edward H. Angle Home”. Dudley has designed many important buildings in the New London County such as the Tyler House at Eastern Point Beach, Groton Library, Groton Congregational Church, New London Ship and Engine Co.(later Electric Boat, etc.). He has put all the same meticulous architectural details in this home and have been perfectly maintained.
This property features a wrap around porch and original unique trim, the outside columns are original brick with stucco and, a granite foundation throughout.
